Sky's feet automatically carried him to the usual places for his afternoon patrol- circling all of the islands, keeping an ever-vigilant watch for trouble. He'd occasionally check his journal, writing a reply here or there, but mostly kept to himself.
His pace was sure and even, his stance indicating that he was aware of his surroundings and ready to respond to any threats if necessary, both contrasting the way his mind was darting back and forth between thoughts and emotions.
He could not believe that he'd slept through the ninja attack. Surely he wasn't the only one, of course, and the fact that he'd been with Inara, on an entirely different floor from where it had happened, and that he was strictly an early-to-bed-early-to-rise type whereas the attack had occurred late at night, almost excused him.
Almost.
Sky was beyond the point where he'd shamefully go to Stoneface and try and quit the Watch for such a blunder, but he was still angry at himself, and his anger only intensified when he'd opened his journal to find that, once more, someone was being critical of the Watch and the Guard, calling them incompetent, saying they had failed. Why was it so difficult for people to understand that NO police force could anticipate and stop every single crime before it happened, especially in a place like Edensphere, where the unexpected happened on a daily basis? Sky supposed, however, that complaining from the safety of one's own home was easier than even giving solid suggestions on how to make things better, or joining the ranks of those who daily put their lives and sanity on the line to protect the Sphere's residents.
Sky drummed his gloved fingers on the hilt of his sword, the sword that belonged to the suit of Spandex he was clad in yet couldn't really think of as his for some reason. In his and Bridge's memories, he'd been wearing blue, after all- and in one memory, he'd been upgraded to Red. Yet his suit was black Spandex, with blue and gray armor, the only red on it being highlights in the form of the number 100 on his chest. Another mystery to be kept locked away until such time as the Sphere chose to reveal it, he supposed.
Sky would occasionally see someone he knew, give them a wave, perhaps stopping to chat briefly.
