Summary: The twins have suffered enough losses and now need Stoney to support them. A tough decision must be made--who will now care for Blood in the event her brother is the next to poof, now that her godparents and most close family friends have disappeared or gone missing?

The loss of Alexi was like the final tipping point for one small family. It had been painful enough for Blood to lose Truth, her close friend and godfather. It had stung to find out that Justice, Blood's other guardian, as written in Ghost's will, was missing. It had broken Ghost's heart to lose Pinky, his teammate, his Pink Ranger. But then to lose Alexi, their roommate, a second time, to be left alone in their house again on top of everything else...it was like the shattering of a fragile teacup. Or at least it felt that way to Ghost.
Everything felt...quiet. Like he distanced from everything and was looking in on himself. It wasn't Ghost that packed up his sister and carried her to Stoney's house. It wasn't Ghost that arrived looking 10 years older. It was a real ghost perhaps, something insubstantial that was just going through the motions, with the only real effort being asserted was being used to put himself one step further.
Go to the library. Confirm what he already suspected. Write down all the new journals, as far back as he can recall clearly, the ones with no dust gathering on their spine. Write the names. Go home. Rewrite the names. Close the journal. Take the child. Find a safe place.
One step further. He could do this. Really. He was already knocking on Stoney's door.
