Fugue nodded, idly wondering if the machines added any special qualities to the paper... Not being able to conjure up some answer, he decided that their brief stop at the paper factory was over. "--at least we have the basic gist of the island. They are constantly creating the supply of journals that we need, for those whose journals become lost or filled completely to the brim."

He studied the island, its workers and machines one more time before calling to Drake. "The farmland is a ways down over there, past the clinic. And over there-" It was a totally new island that had cropped up! "-is the racetrack. I believe it's off-limits every day other than Sunday and Thursday, but I don't see what's wrong with taking a glance at it."

The man seemed to be in a fairly decent mood that day. Maybe he'd skipped a few islands, but at least he tried to point them out for the most part. Still, there were probably all sorts of brand new pieces of the puzzle presented to Drake, regardless of whether they'd visited any specific island or not. And now, they would be heading to the farmland--a place that supplied all the fresh, organic fruits, vegetables, and meats sold in the marketplace.

Filled completely to the brim?

Drake's eyes narrowed very, very slightly when Fugue wasn't looking at him. That went against one of the major things he'd been told about the journals, that he'd told hatchlings over and over; they never ran out of pages. So how could...

Theories were springing up all over in his head. This was all just ensuring he was going to be taking a lengthy sojourn into the archives by himself here soon, to explore, to read, and to see if he was proven correct by what he found. This was all different than what he'd originally thought he had sorted out, and now he had to slot a lot more pieces into place on his giant puzzle mat.

He looked around the papermaking island for a moment, very thoughtfully. He might have to visit a little bit more here, too. Not like he couldn't make the excuse of visiting Helix or something. "Huh. Interesting -- a glance would be good, I'm a bit curious."

He pushed himself away from the machine he'd been looking at, floating up to follow along behind his employer. Fugue was a fairly pleasant person to talk to when he was in a good mood, but oh dear god the glut of information that Drake was trying to process now. He'd be up for days working with these new pieces, chewing on them, sorting them out, making them fit. They headed towards the farmland, the 'bane' of his existence (but only because of the cooking traumas that routinely went on in his household).
