He was quickly waking from a sleep that felt like it had lasted forever. His joints were stiff, his head was pounding and he had the strangest taste in his mouth- but he was still to drawn in by his dream to give any real attempt at waking up. It was all so strange; it confused him and yet it felt right. He could feel it from within his heart-- he knew that it happened. He knew that it was fact, and he knew that it was important. That trust was important.
And then all too quickly, everything was snatched away in one harsh grab. He was awake, blue eyes staring through strange slime that alarmed him, and he instantly felt his arm arch forwards and land against something solid. He pushed, and the smallest fraction gave way under his fingers. He had to get out. His fingers latched onto the jagged pieces of shell and his feet brushed against whatever was keeping him inside. He leaned his weight forward, and eventually, the shell buckled under his weight and gave way to a stumbling man who all but fell forwards.
The first thing he noticed was that it was freezing; the slime clinging to his skin didn't help matters at all. He couldn't quite process what had happened, his thoughts slow, fuzzy and thick as he squinted around, a hand absently brushing his hair back. He felt awkward and cold as he took in his surroundings; everything was unknown and everything was strange to him. He didn't recognize a thing-- and it made him nervous.
The sound of footsteps caught his attention, and he turned his gaze towards the source, only to be greeted by a pair of strangely familiar blue eyes. He tried to speak a word of greeting, but his voice was rough and hard to find, so he smiled a kind smile instead.
There was something familiar about this guy, but he couldn't quite put a finger on it. Maybe he was someone from his past? Or was it someone that he had seen in the market that was being reborn? He walked closer.
"Hey."
And he smiled, looking down at the man who had hatched from the cocoon. He was holding the newborn bundle in one arm. Their eyes met, and he looked over his face. Even with the goo, he could feel his heart jump into his throat. He knew that face, that smile, those eyes, even that hair that was matted with slime.
He blinked a few times. Who was this guy, and why did they look the same? Did he have a twin?
A moment passed, and he shook his head, grinning nervously. Well, he still had a job to do.
"H-hey. Welcome to Edensphere. I'm Truth...do you have a name? Something from your dream, maybe?"
He was staring, and he knew it. He just couldn't help himself.
He hadn't even seen his own face yet, and he knew that this was a familiarity that was almost mind-bending. He knew everything about him, from the way he smiled nervously even to the way he sounded.
"Thanks..." He replied, his voice finally found but he was still at a loss as to what to say. Edensphere? Where was that? And... a name. A name. It shouldn't be that hard, to think of something he knew he should know- but it wouldn't come. So he smiled apologetically. He already found a hand reaching to rub at the back of his neck and shrugged his shoulders, eyes upturning as he thought back to his dream to give this guy an answer.
"Uh... Trust." That sounded right. Sounded like it fit, so he nodded once before letting his hands drop.
"It's good to meet you, Truth." He said finally, still unable to shake that feeling that something was off and just... strange. He was staring, too, but he didn't really understand why.
He nodded softly. Trust? Christ, that was a lot like his name. Maybe they were twins. That meant that he had a family...a brother. Back home, not here. Here he had Justice, who he was trying to not think of...it was too confusing right now.
"Oh, right!" He held out the towel and clothes. "Here, clean yourself off." And he knew in a moment what he should do. "It's really cold out right now, so you can stay at my place. You can take a shower when we get home."
He held out the journal next- the leather covering was a bright blue-green, and he flipped it open to look at the mostly blank pages.
"And this is your journal. Anyone can read what you write in it...so you might want to be careful."
He was probably running through this all too quickly, but he was a little nervous, to be honest.
"Oh, and my name. I picked 'Truth' when I first hatched, but my real name is Phoenix Wright. You can call me whichever one you want."
He took the towel with a smile and a nod of thanks, already moving to dry himself off. The slime was stubborn, but Trust was just as stubborn, if not more.
He pulled his pants on first, and instantly felt much better. Not as embarrassed, and not quite as cold-- which were two good things in his book. The next was the journal, and he took it with a curious air. He pulled it open too, idly sliding his fingers down the book's spine before closing it up and peering back up towards Truth.
"Oh, really?" He smiled with the offer. "That'd be nice. Thanks."
His smile turned into a grin as he pulled his shirt over his head and nervously tugged the ends down. He didn't quite hear what his normal name was, but he was more comfortable calling him Truth, anyway.
"I think I'll stick with Truth," he said finally as he pulled the towel over his head and began attempting to dry the slime out, or at least make it less uncomfortable in his hair. "If that's okay, I mean."
"Oh, yeah. That's fine." And he grinned a bit. The having a twin stuff was nice. He wondered what Justice would say when they got home, and the thought sobered him a bit. Justice. There was more than a little bit to think about there.
He held out the map and the coin pouch.
"Here's some money and a map. It's not a lot, but it's enough to get a couple of things. The map will help you find you way around the floating islands until you get used to it."

"Any questions?"
