The fire was certainly an improvement over shivering next to a space heater in the corner of Castor's small room, but the cold certainly did not agree with him. He wasn't about to tell Castor and garner himself a serious 'I told you so' so he kept the shivering to himself. He pulled up a warped lawn chair (it took a big of digging, but he got that thing out) next to the fire in hopes of keeping the shivers at bay. He was fully wrapped in his blanket, feet tucked in, head only just visible over the edges of the blanket.

"So did you get your bus sign here?"

It was probably a good thing that Pollux kept his complaints to himself- there would have been several 'I told you so's. At least the cold was significantly less from the iced-over tree, and the fire helped. Besides, this was better than being cooped up in the spa.

"I didn't get it," he shrugged, leaning back and placing a leg over the other as he sat back. "Scavenger found it and I bought it off 'im. Cheaper than a real axe, works just as well." He let out a short snort of a laugh. "One of the guys with numbers for a name. Gene-1, I think." he gestured over the rusted scraps and stuff.

"Can find most anything, though."

Cara wasn't planning on spending very long out of doors--she really did want the cold to end--but Castor's idea wasn't necessarily a bad one. It sounded unusual to her, but a good fire sometimes could be just the thing, especially with company. Granted, he wasn't really the most friendly person on the journals, but he seemed like an okay guy.

And she did want to see him--she couldn't help but feel guilty about what had happened, even though she knew that there was no way she could have known he was going to shoot himself. Although it seemed he hadn't actually meant to... or something... anyway. It was easy to find the fire, so Cara made her way over, holding her long coat tightly around herself. "Hi there!" she said--there was someone she didn't recognize too, probably Castor's friend from the journal. Digging into one of her pockets, she brought out a small paper bag. "I brought some oatmeal cookies."

The Scavenger Yard, as it was apparently called, seemed more like piles and piles of garbage - and it being such, it didn't really strike Pollux as being something of a social meeting ground. But apparently it was the place to be, as more people seemed to be congregating to the fire. (Maybe was the fire that was attracting people, considering the cold - but that didn't occur to him)

He poked his head out of his blanket to see who had spoke, she seemed to be speaking to Castor so he kept to himself. Perhaps this was the Cara girl he was talking about. It was kind of hard to see her as something of a weapons expert. Though, he was in a big frozen tree, he had to keep reminding himself that, anything was entirely plausible at this point.

Anytime after Castor and Pollux have set up, idk iattractmushi March 13 2010, 00:53:57 UTC
Cloud had managed to skate to the clothing stall without giving himself a concussion (though it came close at least once). Now with better clothing and shoes to face the cold, he had decided to see if any of the other 'floors' of this place might be ice-free, and therefore ice skate-free. He was getting tired of trying to balance on the thin metal blades, though he was a lot better at it than when he first arrived--more by necessity than desire, but still ( ... )

Castor glanced up at the other white-haired-dude approaching, lifting a hand in a pseudo-greeting. More people around was better than nothing, after all. After nearly a week of being cooped up in the Spa, he was fine with seeing almost anyone (Emphasis on the almost).

He had been tossing what looked like a broken bokken into the fire, causing it to flare up again. He didn't recognize the guy-- one of the scavenger's maybe? Or some random person who thought coming down here at night seemed like a good idea. Didn't matter. "Hey," The greeting was little more than a gruff acknowledgment, but not really antagonistic.

"Don't think I know you."

Glad you made it there safely! And shall we assume Pollux is sleeping or something? iattractmushi March 14 2010, 04:13:41 UTC
Cloud returned the gesture, then tucked his hand back into the pocket of his coat. He waited until he got a little closer before speaking.

"Cloud," he said by way of introductions. The guy might know him from his entry, but just in case he added, "I'm... new here, I don't know many people yet." He offered a slight smile to the dark-haired man tending the fire, hoping that would be enough of a hint for the man to give Cloud his name.

"Castor." Not like they had anything to do but hang out by it and eat cookies, so he didn't mind Cloud coming by. He seemed like an okay guy. he gestured for the man to have a seat, returning to his own spot in the broke maybe-used-to-be-a-fridge. "Find a place to sit. There's cookies someplace."

And they were actually damn good cookies. He'd have to talk to Cara sometime and get the recipe for them. "You're Pollux's brother, right?" He absently shoved hisbangs from his face as he glanced up to Cloud. They even looked alike. Sort of. They had white hair. But then again, how many people had white hair?

..other than Zombie. And that guy at the tea shop. And old people like Lost. And that freaky New Guy at the-- Okay, maybe it was nothing special. But whatever.
