[backdated/closed] Red and Pink

It had left it up to Pinky to decide where they would spend their "date" as Ghost had no preferences (beyond a not so subtle desire to not spend it shopping, although he would have done it if she'd asked). Together the two of them had decided to do a bit of exploring and venture up to one of the safer, unmarked islands. Ghost had been there previously during his unemployed hobo period and had discovered that beyond the sparking beach and far distant lighthouse there was a long swath of grass that had been tinged with frost even in the fall when the rest of the tree was still turning colors. Now in the full blast of winter, the island was covered with a thick blanket, and there were many rolling hills that made for good sledding.
Ghost loved the snow. It was cold yes, but beautiful and it felt almost novel to wake up and see windows frosted over and piles of whiteness all around him. Now days it reminded him of his first winter in Edensphere and the great snowball fight he'd launched with Gundam. Most of the combatants from that fight--Gundam included--were gone now. It was a sad fact of life that he was slowly becoming numb towards. He missed his friends sure. But life continued to roll relentlessly forward and the time he spent mourning each new loss shrank further and further.
It was a rather somber thought to ponder as he waited for Pinky at the dodgy looking bridge to the unnamed island. But seeing his friend in a social context--for once not during some emergency or drama--would quickly brighten him up again.
