Now that he was awake and aware, the idea of the game sounded fun. He got to run around chasing people, getting exercise. What better way to spend a day was there?
Happily, Youth set off looking for robbers that wanted to play.

She was currently hiding behind a large, rather nice couch, getting her breath back after running away from some cop she hadn't recognized on Captain Planet island. Peering over the top carefully, she spotted a very familiar figure with black hair.
"Botheration!" She sank back down behind the couch and tried to think of a plan. Maybe he hadn't noticed her... but she couldn't depend on that. She fiddled with her mask, trying to adjust it (when it still refused to move she stopped), and shifted slightly in her crouched position, so that she would be ready to run if Youth gave any indication he had seen her.

"Fred! Are you a robber? We should play! I will give you time to get ahead if you would like!" He might not be sure yet of what all he could do, but Youth knew he was fast. Very fast.

She straightened up. There was little point in hiding behind a couch after being seen by the 'enemy'; that would only give Youth an advantage over her. Really, she was fortunate that he had given her warning instead of just sneaking up to the couch and sending her to the jail others had written about in the journals.
She gave him a smile (a genuine one, even) and tapped the mask over her eyes. "I would appear to be a robber, yes. A head start would be nice..." She glanced over her shoulder, picked a clear path, and started to run. No sense in letting his generosity go to waste.
This would almost be fun, if running from people intent on catching her was not horribly familiar.

"Then you will have a headstart!" Youth started doing pushups, counting up to fifty so that she would have a decent one. She should have just as much fun with this as he was.
When they were complete, Youth pushed himself up, dusted off his hands, and looked at the path she'd taken. "I am now chasing!" he called. Then he set off in a sprint after Fred. After all, he didn't want someone else to catch her. This was his chase.

Almost unconsciously, her feet had taken her north, toward that unnamed island with the lighthouse. Maybe she could hide in one of the caves... though that idea gave her a bit of a chill. She had no idea what could be lurking in them or where they led... but having a sketchy, possibly bad plan was better than no plan at all.
She heard his yell and tried to increase her speed, but she had been running for most of the day without any real breaks. She felt her breath catch in her throat; her hearts were pounding hard and her muscles burned. She needed a break, soon... and some food would be nice. But she kept running. He was going to catch her fair and square if he caught her at all, and she was not about to give into her body's demand for rest until either he gave up, she got away, or he captured her.

Pursuing seemed oddly natural. This wasn't pushing him but it was still fun. As Youth gained on Fred, he noted that she was breathing very hard indeed. Maybe this hadn't been a good idea after all, though she'd had the option of not running.
"Fred! Did you need to stop? I can wait!" He should have thought of this. Sure, Bell was able to keep up with him, and Crow seemed capable, as did Seren, Handmaiden, Stoneface, and a few others. But there were many who weren't fit in the way he was, and Fred was one of them.

She glared over her shoulder at him, then slowed to a stop. "Bloody... " She leaned over slightly to put her hands on her knees, trying to regain her breath faster. "I... I suppose... that means... you won this game."
If she was going to be popped into some sort of jail by way of a transporter or... something... it might not be that bad. She would be able to sit down for more than five minutes at a time; if nothing else, that would be nice.

He considered her for a moment. "Yes, but you were already tired, I think. Would you like me to wait before sending you to jail, or are you ready to go? It is startling, but Bell did not complain about it hurting, and he would have. And then blamed me."
Standing close, Youth kept an eye out. Fred was his find, and if there was a score, he was catching her.

She took one hand off her knee and waved it around in the air a bit. "Oh, may as well send me now. I am tired, and so long as it does not hurt..." But somehow she wasn't worried about it hurting. She was a bit nervous that it might make her dizzy and nauseous--though just why she thought that it would she couldn't say--but she would deal with that, if it even happened, once she had arrived in the jail.

Youth nodded at the answer. "Rest well, Fred! Perhaps we will play again when you are recovered!" He reached over and touched her shoulder, this time not surprised or upset when someone vanished.

He met up with Youth outside in the market, near the bookstore, just stepping out behind him and joining his roommate in walking.
"Enjoying the chase so far?" If Youth wanted to give chase, perhaps Bell could be persuaded. Perhaps...though there was little in it for being caught.
Reply
"I am! Are you?" He wouldn't mind a chase where he didn't have to hold back. The chases of Fred and Promise he'd had to hold himself back for, though they'd been pleasant enough. Youth was fairly certain he could catch Bell in a fair contest, though he wasn't completely certain. That was what would make it fun.

"Mmm." He half-nodded, shoving his hands in his pockets where they would be safe from accidental touches. "It's alright, though not much of a challenge without handcuffs involved." Glancing sidelong at him, Bell matched Youth's steps as they continued down the pathway.

Youth had been working hard on taming his flusterability. Bell got too many reactions out of him. All the same, Youth half-tripped at the mention of the handcuffs. It was less the handcuffs themselves and more what they'd been with that was... interesting. Then again, he wondered if that was a good topic. He had a lot to sort through. "It would be more challenging if we were required to actually capture the robbers instead of bump into them. Or be bumped into. But I am not complaining!"
Reply
Maybe it was good they couldn't touch each other for this event. Youth could take the time to think things over. Bell had some thinking to do too, he supposed, though he had already decided that finding a new roommate would be pretty inconvenient, sex or no.
So, in the interest of giving Youth some space after this recent development, Bell resisted the urge to suggest Youth could be required to actually capture him later.
"It's almost too easy...especially when I hand you a win. Next time, maybe you can actually try instead of making me do all the work, hm?"
