She was running late. Literally. A trip in the Park with Rei had meant she had to take the chocobo back to its stables and make it back to the Elevator by the time Roswell was off work. It didn't help matters that she had managed to take the wrong bridge and found herself lost. Eventually, somehow, she had made it to the Elevator in time to see the doors open in front of Roswell.

"Hey!" Huff, huff. "Sorry I'm so late! You wouldn't believe what I ran into!" Well, almost ran off of, more like. It was a good thing bridges had ropes or Medium might be in the Hatchery right now. (What did happen if people fell off?) And not because she was a greeter.

Late? Roswell could have let her stew in her worried juices about it, but he really had only just arrived. Maybe another day he would have tormented her just a tad and made it seem like he had been idling around for an hour, but today was not that one.

"I just got here, myself. Don't worry." A rather comfortable smile found itself creasing his expression. "So are you ready to go camera hunting, Medium?"

The question was posed as he stepped inside the elevator, ever wary of its ability to whisk them off for hours and days at a time on a whim. Whatever he answer, with both of them inside the machine chugged ever downward, clinking and clanking just often enough to heighten the young man's paranoia. Now if it'd hurry...

She quickly stepped inside. "Oh, whew. I was worried you'd been waiting." She slumped against the wall, catching her breath. "Oh man, I'm so excited! It's been so long since I went to the Scrapyard. I'm not even sure what I went looking for last? Maybe a DVD player."

Hm. She waited as it made the usual noise, her worries of being kidnapped far from her mind. The air wasn't right. Maybe people we caught when they were by themselves. That was it. So with Roswell here, there was no way! Simple logic.

Then it creaked to a halt and the doors swung open to reveal the broken bits that gave the Scrapyard its name.

"A DVD player? Really? Those play the, uh, the disks, right? I think I had those back where I came from." You really could find anything down in this place, couldn't you? Stepping free of the nervewracking contraption and into a puddle of plastic spoons, Roswell moved his eyes along the horizon of junk.

"Did you want to split up and cover more ground to get this done quicker, or are you not in a rush? I definitely wouldn't mind taking my time and getting more of it to hang out with the genius that showed me Edensphere has burgers."

Roswell could see why Fred had chosen this as her job. It wasn't necessarily glamorous, but it was definitely exciting. One never knew what they'd find the kingdom of the lost.

She gave him a very shocked face, complete with arms by her sides and shouting. "Whaaat?! You have to be, like, the first person besides Eyepatch that knows what they are! Even Prongs is totally ancient!" Well, not that he was old. She was pretty sure they were about the same age. But he had no idea what a DVD is, and was therefore, very old-fashioned.

"I don't care." She began picking around. "I mean, this genius doesn't really have anything to do for a while!" It was obvious she was pleased with Roswell's flattery. More often than not, she found herself being called absent-minded or 'Short Bus', neither of which, she suspected of the second, was supposed to be praise. Though if it was a short bus, it'd definitely be exclusive, so maybe she should be honored to be there!

Or something.
