Summary: Gundam stops by to visit the sister he didn't know he had.
Bastet was thankful for the relative quiet in the Hatchery over the past couple of days. With the shortage in manpower in the Guard, she'd been quietly picking up extra shifts. So the less she actually had to do while there, the better.
She and Gundam had finally made plans for him to stop by while she was on duty. And while it made her heart ache a little to know that someone else she'd grown to love had forgotten her, she was glad he was back, and glad he was willing to reconnect with those he'd known before.
Not for the first time, she felt a rush of relief that she and Range had managed to come to a tentative understanding before this latest group of new arrivals. They now knew how they felt about each other...she just needed to make up her mind about how far to let things progress. Things weren't settled, but they felt better than at any time since he'd returned.
Threshold had stopped by just before noon to drop off and discuss one of her reports, and it was past one before Bastet was finally able to sit at the table where the newborn items rested, setting out the sandwiches and fruit she'd picked up that morning for lunch. She'd gotten enough to share in case Gundam wanted any, but she could easily finish it otherwise.
She sighed, rubbing a hand over the tense muscles at the back of her neck. Maybe she should see Companion about getting a massage soon.
