Summary: The victims of the acorn explosion are born back into the Sphere, and Bastet is there to :| at them.
Bastet was in a rather foul mood after dealing with the events of the past few days. The explosion, the entry in blood, then two newcomers were eaten by a giant snake...who the hell died that fast? It had to be a Sphere record.
Never one to be reckless, she was even more determined to be cautious for the foreseeable future. Bridge had sensed Crow in the bookstore at the time of the explosion, but his journal hadn't appeared in the library. Had he somehow survived? Had his journal been destroyed as well? There was no way of knowing. As usual.
The constant feeling of running in place was enough to make her want to quit this stupid job and go back to selling clothes full time. She might have no more success at solving matters, but at least she wouldn't have what felt like the whole Sphere looking to her for answers.
The sound of cocoons cracking jarred her from her thoughts, and she grabbed a few newborn packets. It figured; she'd gotten little sleep since all hell broke loose, and the last thing she wanted to deal with was greeting newborns. No matter; she'd get them on their way as soon as possible.
