Throne laughed, pleased with both what Reverie had to say as well as the surprising firmness of his handshake. Refreshing. "Funny, most of the time I have the opposite effect on people," he turned to the group at large, gesturing for them to enter the elevator, "So. I apologize in advance." He leaned, grinning at each of them against the frame of the door, before striding in himself, pushing at the appropriate button. Looking at the lot of them, he felt somewhat responsible for the group. He was, after all, an Adventurer by profession, and he tried to imagine what Sight would say in a moment like this.
"I don't know if all of you have been down there before," he said, simply but confidently, a small smile still playing on his lips. "But you should all know how this place keeps everybody on its toes. I suggest we move around in pairs, if we split up at all. That way we can cover more ground, more efficiently, but at the same time, keep relatively safe." He thumbed at himself with a short nod. "Any lifting, leave to me, alright? Not to say that you're wimps or anything, but," Another reassuring nod, "it's kind of my forte."
Vanilla stayed relativly silent as the three spoke. Once in the elevator she nodded her thanks to Throne. They all seemed friendly and nice. It was comforting to be around people that were kind. "I can cut things in half." She gazed at Throne thoughtfully. "You can leave that swort of thing to me." A small smile brightened her features.
Crow smiled slightly as everyone offered their opinions or abilities for consideration. The elevator ride did not sit any better with him the third time, but he toughed out the strangeness.
"If we split up then it would be best for one of you two to accompany Vanilla-san." He said mildly. If there were danger, which he wouldn't discount this time, he'd prefer the little girl to be accompanied by someone who at least wasn't blind. And they both seemed nice enough. "We will likely find it easier to divide out and search in separate groups."
Reverie honestly would have preferred to go with Throne - there was something about his cheerful youthfulness, his dry humor, that he decided he was fond of. But it seemed like that would be the case, here, and so he would have to deal. It wasn't a problem, really, only a minor inconvenience that didn't matter. "Well, I suppose if Throne's the strongest one, should he go with Vanilla? I imagine you and I could handle anything together."
He shrugged a little. "What do you think, Vanilla? Throne?"
Throne looked down at the young girl, the ominousness of what she had said still lingering fresh in his mind. "Well, it seems like you can handle yourself," he said, tilting his head slightly to look at her. He turned then to his other companions, in particular towards Crow. To be honest, the both he and Reverie didn't seem particularly well-versed in combat, and if trouble was going to hit, having them together may have proved to be to neither of their advantage. "Can either of you actually fight?" he asked, trying hard not to sound too offensive. "Cause if not, maybe we should split up, me and Vanilla, I mean." He nodded towards her. "Something tells me she's not the type to need rescuing."
Crow shrugged a bit uncomfortably. He was aware from his earlier encounter with the possessed stuffed animals that he could probably defend himself more than adequately, but that didn't mean he had to like that fact.
"I will be all right whatever the circumstances." He said with a small, careful smile. "Please do not worry about who comes with me. If splitting up is inconvenient, we can simply stay together. Safety is a higher priority than efficiency." He meant that whole-heartedly. It would be pointless for anyone to get hurt on this expedition. Even if he'd been the one to point out the greater efficiency, he still considered it a secondary concern.
The elevator gave a cheerful little ding as they reached the fifth floor.
