The good thing about being on duty with Blood was that it was never boring.
Spike found the time passing quickly when she was there to entertain him; she was always so full of energy and life, so curious about everything.
He kept up his usual diligent patrol while they were there, mindful of the fact that Bastet could be watching, until his attention was caught by a stirring cocoon... and the usual hope that it might be one of his departed friends returning entered Spike's mind once again. Resigning himself to the fact that it was extremely unlikely, he straightened up and called over to Blood.
"Hey, Blood, we have someone hatching; you know what to do."
