------
It was the same old dream, one that had played over and over like a broken record. Lucy would run through the marketplace in the end, searching for someone, anyone. It was a relentless form of torture and she was always glad that this particular dream didn’t surface very often. She was still in her pyjamas but there was nobody nearby to comment on her current state of dress. The wind didn’t stir and the birds weren’t singing. The sun was shining but no warmth came from its rays. Overall, the atmosphere of the dream felt artificial as she was searched for any people she knew. She didn’t like the sinking feeling that was forming in her stomach because of this dream. It hurt deeply that people were still missing.

The perky brunette shook her head before turning around and deciding on one definite course of action. She’d backtrack to the Pink House to search for Chosen again. The house would be torn apart looking for some kind of clue. The chairs would be askew from their traditional places and the cushions on the couch would be tossed with blatant disregard. He hadn’t been there when she’d woken up and he was always there. He was always the first person she saw in the morning.

She’d woken up in the dream, curled into her favourite yellow blanket before wandering into the main area of the house. It was empty as her arms folded together in a display of her discomfort. There was no coffee brewing and no food cooking on the stove. The cupboard doors were torn asunder, the shelves were emptied of their contents. The sinking feeling that had begun formed into a pit and her blood began to run cold. She couldn’t stop herself from panicking and despite the fact that she knew what was happening wasn’t real, she ran out of the house anyway.

She ended up on the second level, racing through the empty marketplace as always. Stalls were missing, broken crates littered the area like there had been a battle that she’d slept through. The sights, colours and sounds of the marketplace that made it what she’d grown to respect were nonexistent.

“Hello?” she called out as her voice rang in the air for a few moments before dying off.

“Is anyone here?”

She wandered about the empty business district, searching for a face, familiar or not. The panic rose and fell in her chest as her legs started running through the marketplace again. Where was everybody? There had to be somebody left in Edensphere right? Somebody, anybody would do. Green eyes dipped and darted frantically in every direction searching for anyone.

Surely there was someone right? If anything scared her more than those close to her dying, it was being left in the Sphere, alone.
