Bridge was quite happy to watch Spike joust for now, sitting in the blue section as soon as his friend was brought out, slipping a couple of coins to one of the servers and munching contentedly on the huge turkey leg he was brought.
Jousting--Cara honestly had no idea what that was, but she'd seen Honor's handwriting and it had been a while since Cara'd seen her. Upon stepping off of the elevator, however, she'd found herself confronted with various officials and lists... and as the stands seemed to offer the best vantage point, Cara decided to head up there.
Fortunately she'd brought a short sword rather than a spear with her since it hadn't sounded dangerous, so she didn't get any looks as she made her way up--and spotted a familiar face. "Hey, Bridge!" Cara said with a grin, edging her way along the benches towards him.
Bridge smiled and waved at Cara with his turkey leg, motioning toward the empty bench beside him.
"Hey, Cara! Come to watch the sport- or are you going to participate? I might try later on, but right now, Spike's decided to display his jousting skills. ... If he has any, which I doubt."
Honor found herself in the middle of the Wilderness as it changed. When she was approached by a squire, it was only natural of her to agree to be dressed as a knight and take up the offer of the jousting. It was... so familiar. She knew she wanted to be something important, something banned by her gender, and yet she was accepted here by this squire.
She agreed and was dressed in red, her tunic proudly displaying a roaring lion. Mounted on a horse and waiting at one end of the jousting lane, all she needed was a worthy opponent. Somehow, she was both terrified and looking forward to it.
This was more her style- more who she was, more Honor than the girl who was a guard and fixed swords. She found she didn't mind at all. She hefted the lance as her squire handed it off and looked down the lane. She might be small, but she knew, size only mattered if you could hit the opponent. It was thrilling to be on a horse and readying for this

SPIKE VS. HONOR DEATHMATCHblue_shieldsJuly 16 2009, 20:13:38 UTC
Jousting? Spike was SO there. He'd never done it before, but he figured it would be a great way to let out some tension and a new way to exercise. He and Bridge came down together and parted, Bridge to watch for now- he said he'd watch Spike make an idiot of himself first before trying anything. Spike had just shaken his head and gone to get ready, pleased that there were squires getting combatants ready, sure he could master this right away.
Soon, Spike was dressed in blue- one of the two colors he felt very drawn to- and mounted on a horse, being led into the arena.

It could be said that Honor was excited. Jousting was something she was extraordinarily familiar with. She had spent time in the previous wilderness, comforted by the familiarity of it all, albeit slightly more... open, lax... cleaner, than she would think, but familiar none the less. And, while she hadn't known the name or rules for jousting when she had arrived on the scene, it was only time before the squire began explaining and it came back to her.
She quickly checked her armor and lance, looking down the lane, nervous and excited. A blue knight entered the other side of the lane. Nervousness sent a shiver down her back, but she steadied herself. When a man came out to the middle and waved a flag, Honor spurred her horse into a charge down her side, lance leveling to knock her opponent from his horse over the white fence separating the horses.
