Summary: Alekhine has a shop! And her first scheduled customer, in the afternoon.
(
It fills the warmth of blue and leaves a chill instead )
Naturally a stall with metal objects caught her attention as she passed by. Her eyes critically analyzed all the junk metalwork being displayed. It took her a moment to recognize the person behind the stall and when she did, she was so startled she almost dropped her pink shopping bag in shock.
"Oh!" She squeaked. "Its you!"
Clearly someone didn't pay enough attention to the journals.

Everything except the sudden change in eyecolor from green to brown as she set the small music box down.
"Good morning. I must imagine it is me, whom else would I be?"

"...By Oz. It is you!" There was shock--not glee, and surprisingly not hate--in her eyes as she stared back. "Miss Clé. My goodness! I hadn't realized you'd come back from the dead! You look the same too, not even a little bit...deadish. I was told it could happen but..."
She trailed off as a sudden thought came to her. "Has your friends reappeared as well?"
Reply
"It is not entirely uncommon, or so I am told, for those who have died here to return after a time. Though, as you said, you were also told." So why are you gawking, Bubbles?
"Which friends are these?
Reply
Prattle prattle. "So the rumor goes. In reality, there has more people that have left than have returned." Why was she being so nice, ugh. Must be the shock factor.
...Wait what did she say? "What friends? Fallen and East of course! And that other girl, Spirit? Something like that."

But when Bubbles started on names, it sounded like sharp static to Alekhine. She was fairly certain the other woman wasn't doing it on purpose, since it didn't even seem like the sort of noise one could make if they tried. Still and yet, she didn't want Bubbles knowing anything more about her than she already did, so...
"I am afraid I have not heard any news, one way or another." Slight head tilt, a shrug of a sort. "As these things tend to be."

Bubbles didn't notice anything unusual about Alekhine's reaction to her words. "Oh. That's a shame." And it was. Bubbles had liked East, almost as much as she had hated Fallen and his crude and possessive attempts to hide East from her. "I wonder why you have reappeared and they haven't." God why was she still around?
"Oh well. This place is cruel after all. I should continue to get ready for the ball. ...You are coming, aren't you?" This last was said almost as an afterthought, as though it was obligatory for the other woman to attend.

Alekhine cupped her chin slightly at the mention of the ball, her body language slightly bored and dismissive of the conversation. "We shall see, will we not?"
Reply
"Yes, things would be very different indeed." Not only would Alekhine not be there, there would also be a overabundance of pink everywhere. Good thing she wasn't in charge then.
"Well everyone is going," she said, gathering her stuff close, "It would be a shame if you were the only one left, all alone and sad, wouldn't it?" She gave her a sunny, perky smile. "Good luck, Miss Clé--or whoever you are now!"
