Summary: Toushi has been fighting the ants and finally got his ass handed to him.

It should have hurt more than it did.
He could still clearly see his large sword swing into the thorax of one of the large fire ants. By then his skin was burning with bits of stray venom and a mixture of his own blood, but he wouldn't let something like that stop him. The edge of the the blade got stuck for a second, and in that moment he felt the head of another crush into his own. Stumbling as he saw stars, Toushi yanked the sword from the writhing beast, trying to steady himself with it. As he turned to face the one who had hit him, everything seemed to happen in slow motion.
He felt it before he saw it, the large leg pushing him forward into the trunk of the tree. The pain began after he realized that it had not only pushed him, but had slipped through his shirt and flesh, out his back, impaling him onto the wood like an insect on display. Brown eyes were wide and he coughed, blood gurgling out of his mouth.
The ant struggled, trying to pull it's leg free from the tree more than his shoulder, but it was lodged in good. Survival instinct prevails all, as it severed it's own limb and continued on, ignoring the dying body of it's comrade a few feet away. Toushi was left with a darkening vision, struggling against that which held him in place. It became slick with blood and he lost his grip, instead hissing every time he tried to move.
As he numbed to almost any feeling, Toushi knew he had to let someone know what was going on. Shaky, blood-stained fingers were able to grip the journal as he wrote what he could, more to make sure there was someone to take care of things than a call for help. He wasn't sure why he wasn't entirely afraid of dying, but something about it made it feel like he had had worse before. Something...
Shit, he swore inside, slumped and stuck against the trunk. Just...wish I could've figured it all out first...
