She beamed at Fullmetal as passed the box with the glass cat inside to him. With the freed-up arm, Lucy wrapped her arm around the cat and began stroking Reol's head. An affectionate smile spread across her face as the little critter began to purr. She could just tell from the way Reol rubbed his head on her chin that he was a well-loved kitty as she put him back on the ground and shooed him back inside.
"Somebody spoils his kitties," she said gently before her arms were wrapping around Fullmetal in an embrace. Pulling back, she gave him a quick look-over. Silly boys were always getting into all kinds of trouble here.
"How have you been?"

"Yeah, a girl with a dog. She asked me about my brother. I guess that means you saw my dream back then?"
He was quiet for a moment. He couldn't be mad at Lucy for having seen it; after all, she had no control over that. The fact that details about his life could be arbitrarily shared with others without his knowing did bother him a little though. At this point, however, there really wasn't anything he could do about it.
He nodded. "Right, I don't have to draw a circle now. At the very least it's much more convenient."

"Well, that's good right? So what does this have to do with the cat your evil twin gave me? More importantly... why am I keeping it after what he did to you?"

"I want to see if I can reproduce it. Even though I don't like to admit it, he seemed to be a more proficient alchemist than I am, which makes him the best measure by which to compare myself."
He carefully removed the glass cat from the box and set it next to the drinking glass. He definitely had enough material, but he held a few reservations about his ability to re-form the more delicate substance.
"Well, he wasn't all that bad. And I'm sure he certainly... He seemed to care quite a bit about you, you know."
Fullmetal's face began to flush, as though mentioning his double's feelings was in some way admitting his own. In all honesty, it pretty much was a round-about way of saying it. He tentatively looked over at Lucy, wondering if she'd view it the same way.

"Well... it was a bad time and he caught me off guard so much... and then he was back and well..."
Her green eyes were transfixed on the two objects, wondering what would happen next. She'd only seen alchemy in action once before and was curious about what could be done with it. Fullmetal had mentioned being able to fix things with it in the past but maybe he could do other things with it. Maybe there was a book at the bookshop about alchemy. Lucy would have to talk to Crow about that the next time she saw him.
Her thoughts just kept wandering back to that kiss back in December as she kept her gaze focused on the objects in front of her.

He finally looked back at the drinking glass and glass cat. Trying to transmute something more complicated in front of someone he REALLY liked, while being nervous of his feelings for that person, was not really making things easier. But he was still curious and wanted to find out if he would actually be a match for his double or not, so he finally clapped both hands together and touched the drinking glass.
After the blue flash finally died down, the drinking glass had disappeared to reveal a second glass cat. Fullmetal smiled momentarily, happy that it looked identical to its brother. But it only looked that way. Upon picking it up and taking a closer look, he noticed several air bubbles trapped in some of the thicker spots.
"It's not perfect," he held the cat up for Lucy to see, "but I think it's a good start."
He paused awkwardly for a moment before continuing. "Um, you can keep it... if you want."

She leaned in close to him and gave him a light, innocent peck on the cheek. She thought his gesture was sweet and it deserved a very sweet reward.
"It's perfect the way it is," she replied happily. "I'll treasure it always."

"I... I'm glad that you like it." He had placed both hands on his knees and begun to stare intently at the coffee table, noticing a small scratch on the top. Probably from Reol.
After a quiet moment, Fullmetal turned to face Lucy again. Somehow, their faces seemed awfully close. Much closer than he'd expected, at least.
"I..."
What he WANTED to say was 'I really like you', but Lucy's face being only inches from his somehow didn't lend itself well to talking. Maybe because he was afraid of breathing in her face. Who knew. Instead, he opted to lean over and kiss her.

Somebody was feeling a little bit more confident wasn't he?
"Okay," Lucy said a bit breathlessly. "You are so mine."

Whatever shade of red his face had been before, it was practically glowing now. For a moment he didn't exactly understand what she meant. Possibly because his head was suddenly buzzing with thousands of thoughts, or possibly because he still wasn't sure what he'd just done.
"Ah!!"
He clapped a hand over his mouth and stared at Lucy for a moment, realization finally sinking in. He felt a little stupid for being so embarrassed, but he was fairly certain he'd never kissed someone before. If he had... well, he didn't remember it at all, but he imagined it must have been just as awkward.
"Um, so you... That means we're dating, right?"
