The murder investigation wasn't going as well as he'd hoped. They only had a handful of leads, and now that Sniper was gone, too, he was half-expecting another body to be added to the count. ...or was the killer trying to get at Sniper all along? Was this what he was really aiming for, to get Sniper? He'd talk to Bastet, but she was nowhere to be found.

He was slowly making his way through the new island, puzzling out the case and looking for Bastet as he went, and he was half-surprised to see a familiar figure on the beach. He took his time to reach her, waiting until he was standing near her to speak.

"Hey, Luce."

At least it was a familiar voice as Lucy looked up to see Truth. If he asked her for more information, she wasn't sure what she could answer for him this time as she gave him a small smile. The murder had alarmed her quite a bit but there wasn't anything that she could do about it as her gaze lingered back to the ocean.

"Howdy."

Life was quiet for little Kisa, and her days were filled with helping at the bakery and learning to sew at home in the evenings. She chose not to become involved with drastic events, hoping that if she kept out of the way, those she loved would not disappear.

The little girl walked along the beach, a basket of pastries cradled close to her. Shoes tapped against the boardwalk, the wind ruffling her dress and petticoat and sticking sand to the fine tulle. The barest smile.

She never spoke to strangers, but this other girl seemed just as old as she.
"Hello Miss and hello Sir." She greeted shyly. "Are you new to Rivelata? Did you just arrive by ship?"

The beach. He needed to get out onto the beach and think. And that's exactly what he did. Sora walked right out to the beach and stopped dead in his tracks. Oh for the love of all cookies why. Losing Kairi for Selphie? How unfair was Rivelata. Sora sighed. There was someone else there, he'd never spoken to her but he kind of knew who she was. Ki-something - she worked at the pastry shop, Sora thought. He could have been wrong though. He was wrong a lot lately.

Sora sighed and stopped. Wait. There was another guy. In a suit. He didn't look familiar at all. Sora tentatively walked forward and sat in the sand near the people - but not too near. He didn't say anything, because for once he had no words.

Instead, he traced stars in the sand.

[ooc: sorry about the late replies btw. I've been a bit busy. Sora-mun if Selphie/Lucy calls him Sky that was his name in ES.]First a small girl had arrived asked if Lucy and Truth were new to Rivelata. Then, there was a boy? Sky! Lucy looked past Kisa and blinked a couple times before standing up. She'd never talked to him in Edensphere as she clambered to her feet. This was the first time she'd encountered people from the island who weren't intent on looking at her oddly ( ... )

Sora looked up at Selphie (he still assumed it was Selphie). She was Real. But she came from the tree (the man, Truth, did too). Did that mean she was Selphie or Selphie's-otherself or a Selphie-clone or what? So complicated with all the choices there were. Sora looked back down at his stars and smoothed them over before drawing something that might have been a Shadow Heartless. It could have also been a dog, but that was beside the point.

"Yeah," Sora said to the sand, "the beach reminds me of home. Does it remind you of something?"

It was a weird way to phrase a question, but Sora had learned that it was usually better to ask strange questions that didn't make sense to the person than have them totally confused by the end of an explanation. Maybe he'd get it totally right one of these times, but Sora guessed he hadn't yet. It was an eggshell topic anyway. He probably should have left it alone.

Too late now. He couldn't take the words back.
