Cross learned something about being a guide. One, be prepared and bring a sweater if it's cold. Two, it could get really ugly if the new born proved hostile. Three, bring lots of tea and a pack playing cards. So he sat on the floor and laid out a solitaire spread.
He had went through his fourth game when one of the cocoons wriggled. The cards were picked up and set down in his chair. He hoped this time there wouldn't be any fights. He was still sore from last time which made moving a bit terrible. Cross collected the kit and towels while he winced.
