(
Somebody told me that you had a boyfriend who looked like a girlfriend I had in February of last year // It's not confidential I've got potential... )
After a few minutes of walking at his slow pace, he spotted a figure in the distance and paused for a moment. It wasn't anyone he could recognize, so he had to be cautious. Not that he wasn't cautious around others anyway. He slowly crept closer, until he stood a few yards away before speaking.
"Hello?"
Reply
"Hello." He greeted, bowing his head politely. He didn't recognize the other's voice. But then, this version of the wilderness was unlike others. People. And some of them familiar, some of them not. He wondered if this were stranger than the dinosaurs or not. Less teeth, at any rate.
"May I help you?" Not impatient, merely polite.
Reply
"Not likely. Are you new here? I do not believe I have seen you around before."
He replied calmly, his Lexicon held somewhat loosely at his side. This place was dangerous, he knew this and was always prepared to defend himself.
"You may not want to let your guard down around here."
Reply
"You might say that." He replied finally. "Thank you for the warning. I am never unguarded in the wilderness. I am aware of the dangers." He thought he was anyway.
"My name is Crow." He added, watching Zexion carefully for any recognition. "I apologize for the belated introduction. Who might you be?" Oh so polite, formal, proper. He was finding the wilderness this time to be... Fascinating. He wondered if the blue-haired man was from the Tree, someone he hadn't met, or one of the residents of this ruined place.
Ingrained caution kept him from asking outright. This could, after all, be one of the traps that would get him untimely killed. He had no wish for a memory wipe.

"My name is Zexion. I too, am always prepared for this dangerous place."
He shifted the large black book to his other hand, as his right hand was growing tired. This man seemed...different to him. What was he capable of?
Reply
"I am glad to hear that, Zexion-san. It is a pleasure to meet you." he glanced at the book the other carried and tilted his head slightly, bland and nonthreatening. Except for his eerie eyes and the aura of complete, contained calm.
"Would you mind telling me about this place, Zexion-san?" He asked, a neutral enough question.
Reply
"I suppose. This world is known as Adstringendum. People, creatures, practically anythig can be drawn into this failed experiment of space and time compression."
He noticed Crow look at the Lexicon for a moment, and then continued with his explanation.
"I have only been here for a few weeks, so there are most likely others who could explain it better than I. However, I am currently researching this place amidst the chaos in order to get a better grasp of the data of this world."
Reply
Without explaining himself, Crow drew a second journal from his pack, flipping it open and studying the pages intently for a moment. Conversations flowed in ink across the pages of the magical journal, and he closed the book, pressed the edge against his chin as he thought.
"Thank you Zexion-san. This place sounds most unique. So it is a place of strange meetings... What sort of research do you conduct, if I may ask?"
Reply
"I research just about everything betwixt and between. The creatures, the spirits, the inhabitants. I study them all. This place is a melting pot of sorts, a seemingly limitless source of information."
He nodded to himself slightly, it sounded about right. He did study everything here, maybe a little more on varying subjects, but it didn't matter.

The dark haired man studied Zexion silently for a moment. "What sort of spirits and inhabitants are there, if you do not mind my prying?"
Reply
"The inhabitants here are people from a multitude of othe worlds. Newcomers are always arriving, and some disappear. The spirits, are known as the Animus, and seem to despise the residents of this world."
Reply
"Interesting. That sounds somewhat like where I am from." He examined Zexion thoughtfully. "You've only been here a few weeks, correct? But you seem quite efficient in collecting information."
Reply
"I'm a scientist of sorts. Gathering data is something I'm good at."
He closed the Lexicon and returned it to his side.
Reply
"I've been told there's no way out of here. Is that something you find to be true?"
Reply
"Indeed it is unusual. I do believe there are ways out of this place, but I am not currently interested in searching for them."
