Seemed that Fugue was going to be out again--he'd been affected by the aging event that still hadn't come to an end. And he must've been really old for him to not want to be around to greet newborns.
So guess who was there instead.
She fidgeted in her seat, nervously wondering if anyone was going to be born today. The brunette sat with fists clenched at her knees, head bowed down as she waited, yet her gaze wandered and scanned the room. Watching. Waiting. Iris breathed deeply, trying to calm herself. It was a wonder that she'd taken up this job considering her lack of confidence and fear of being unable to provide what was necessary for the newborns. However, her encounters with Mako made her feel a little better. Feel a little stronger. A little more confident in what she did.
Yet, when it came to this, she was once more--
Maybe it was because Mako had been so nice to her and so appreciative of the things that she'd done. But the usual fear of the unknown bit her, and every time a cocoon wriggled, she felt like biting her nails. Or like she was going to have a heart attack.
The sounds of cocoons breaking snapped the girl to attention, making her suddenly straighten up as her hands rigidly shot out to grab provisions--towels, paper maps of Edensphere, paper journals, and a few sets of clothing. Having so quickly grabbed so many, she accidentally knocked a bunch of them off the table, and Iris found herself nervously placing the ones in her hands back before going for the other fallen ones.
