His footfalls were nearly silent, lacking that tell-tale resounding clack on the floor as he made his way through the hallways. He continued walking casually past the staff, ignoring their milling about. Ruby-tinted eyes remained staring ahead, mind only focusing on the room number he had been given, and the instructions along with it. 'Let her rest', 'Don't bring up anything... unnecessary.', "Don't let her push herself,", and the like. At the drifting thoughts, he remained expressionless, though his eyes hardened slightly ( ... )

A present? Lucy pulled the animal toward her, hugging it gently before giving a small smile to the creature. It was sweet of Seraph to bring her something to keep her company as the smile and her gaze drifted up to look at the Daddy of their surrogate family. He looked... no different than he normally did. Yet, something felt different though as her hand fisted into the top layer of the blankets. She'd done something to worry him, she could tell.

"Hi," she said to him tiredly.

He turned his head towards her as she spoke. "Are you feeling well enough to speak?" Was all that he said, standing from the wall and letting his hands down from the side of his chest. He wasn't disappointed, he wasn't angry, nor anything else... simply concerned. It was difficult for the emotion to reach through his monotonous speech, though it was still there.

He finally spoke again, blinking once more. Perhaps it was the fact that he was actually blinking that showed his expression. "If not, perhaps you should rest. I have time." After all, Lucy need not hurry herself on his account.

He wasn't mad? That's good, Lucy thought as she nodded slowly. "I'll be okay," she replied.

She could hear people talking in the hallway in hushed tones before peeking into the room. Its occupant was awake they whispered before their shoes shuffled across the floor outside to fetch someone to check on Lucy. She was too weak to push herself up in the bed as she sighed lightly. "What happened to me?"

As she glanced to the door, he began walking to it, speaking as he did. "Good. Chosen and myself were quite concerned, you know." He spoke simply, taking the door handle and closing it to reduce the amount of noise in the room. "As for what transpired..."

He looked back to her, one brow twitching the faintest amount, as though wanting to furrow in worry. "You overexerted yourself." He stated simply. "That is was I have been informed. Exhaustion." The man stepped towards the bed, keeping his eyes on her own. "...It is important to take care of yourself, you know. And do not let pride get in your way. Should you require assistance, you need only ask."

Was that all he wished to say at the moment? Probably, yes. He had let her know what had happened to the best of his abilities, and that she would have help in the event that it was needed.

Lucy's gaze dropped as Seraph scolded her for being such a fool. She felt very small then as she realized her actions of the previous day had been childish. The worker who had taken her to the farm that day had been right. She should've gone home and slept the days away until everything was over. Stayed where someone could take care of her and keep people from prying.

The room felt smaller, colder with the door closed but the pajamas she was wearing kept most of the cool air off her. "I'm sorry."

"..." At the small apology, he sighed inwardly. Perhaps this had been a terrible idea- after all, he was not the most compassionate, nor the most consoling being in the Sphere. He glanced away and down, thinking to himself. "Do not apologize," He spoke, softer. "You have done nothing to warrant it."

Finally gathering his thoughts, his head tilted back, looking up at the ceiling. "You did your best in a trying time. Despite how you felt, you continued to see to your obligations. Stubborn Loyalty to your duty and your feelings can be... is... a very admirable trait." And why did it ping such familiarity in him? As though she reminded him of someone he once knew.

What may have been the ghost of a smile flickered across his face. "Do not stop believing passionately in what it is that you do." She was a brave young woman, going through the death of a friend, the subsequent panic, her health, and then still trying to force herself into work. That faint familiarity was still there. "Just remember that you do not have to do it alone."

There was something in those words that left Lucy with something to chew on. This wasn't the first time she'd had a conversation like this only she hadn't been on the receiving end. Thinking made her tired as her eyes started to involuntarily close. She willed them to stay open for just a moment long as she gave Seraph a sleepy smile. The brunette appeared to be due for a nap as she gave a slight nod.

"I'll remember that," she said as her eyes closed. "Thank... you..."

"...perhaps I have overstayed my welcome." He stood up, closing his eyes for a moment. "I apologize should I have upset you, Lucy. Get some rest. You deserve it." He noted, before turning to leave. At least he had tried to let his feelings known.

Next time, he would leave this for Chosen. Seraph was not the right person to greet someone who had recently gone through a traumatic event. But, he had, at least, tried.
