Gai still remembered that moment, though now he recalled it with some guilt. He had swept in and wrapped Spring in what he believed to be true when he was completely wrong. It had been with the best intentions. That didn't change how wrong he'd been and how they'd just gone for it. But he still felt that love and so he didn't know how much that made up for them running with the notion of blood relations.

The hand on his got a smile. It was welcoming; Spring wanted the touch. Spring's words were just as comforting. He wanted to stay with Gai and Bell, even though Bell teased and tried to seem aloof. His so student was seeing underneath the underneath. "Then it shall remain where all three of us are."

He shrugged at the question. "Perhaps because I do not yet know what they are they cannot manifest. I am not sure. There was a girl over here earlier, I think." Gai pointed at one shadow that was a bit behind Spring. "I could see her silhouette, and there was something... lumpy but familiar about the shape of her head. I do not know why." Then he was gesturing to the miniature Tree in front of him. "It is. It is simply very small. And still as inscrutable."
