Good god the past 2 days have been long! Yesterday I got up at 7:15 when Aaron needed to get going to class. Took him to class, went to the bank (except at 8:15 apparantly it's not open up here), got gas, showered, went to the bank (actually got to put my money in this time), came back to the apartment just in time to catch the shuttle to campus. Went to the faculty meeting and only spent about an hour out of the 4 hours I was there in the meeting. On top of that, I had to wait 30 minutes for the faculty advisor to finally be ready to meet and then she didn't even really care to talk about things. But of course, starting next week she'll be telling me how to do my job and sending messages to me. UGH! I wish Judi was doing it this year!
On the bright side, I did skip out of the meeting long enough to see Aaron before he had to go to his next class so that was cool since we'd had a misunderstanding this morning. Most all our arguements are all misunderstandings. I do believe that I'm oversensitive...
Finally got to come home after the meeting and eat some lunch and take a short (ATTEMPTED) nap. But, of course, the one day that I want a nap after not having one in the past 2 months, they decide to drill outside my window on God only knows what. Then, Morgan's friend comes to the door 5 minutes after I FINALLY fell back asleep. By then, it was a lost cause since I had to answer the door. So, I got up and started getting ready to go pick up the SSWA bags and shirts. Went by LaFollette and picked up Aaron so that he could help me carry the stuff to the car. Ended up only being 2 boxes but it was a help when we took them into the Social Work Office. Went to find somewhere to park and of course, I'd already used all my change to get a meter to take the boxes in the office, so I couldn't go to my research study I needed for class. So, I went back to the department and met Joy so that we could go to the Boys and Girls Club.
Not a fan of that place AT ALL! My talents could be used much better somewhere else. They just want to play. It's like babysitting. Let the people who are paid to work there do that. There are only about 6 of them and they sit in their offices doing nothing. It's ridiculous! Today, was a bit better since I had to do an interview so that I can complete my Case Study that is due on Tuesday. I actually interviewed 2 girls because another one came up begging to be interviewed. The one who wanted to be interviewed really bad, told me at one point that I hadn't asked her about her favorite bed. So I figure her parents are seperated and that she has a favorite bed at one of her parents. Oh no, she told me "Queen bed with satin sheets." Pink to be exact. I couldn't help but want to laugh because I totally know she doesn't have either of these things. Unless she shares it with her other 5 brothers and sisters. AND, she told me her favorite place was the Boys and Girls Club. BLECH! Made me want to throw up. Also, it made me sad for her because it probably means she has a terrible home life. Why can't parents spend time with their kids and help them to grow. Don't have kids if you don't want to be a positive part of their life and are going to strive to be that.
Came home, chilled with the girls watchin t.v. :) Found out that the scholarship interviews that should have been last week have been moved to not this week like I had been told they were going to be, but next Friday. So that totally means that I can't go home Thursday to see Eden and Mandy even though I had got permission to skip out of my last class. It totally sucks! I just want to go home and spend time with them. And it's made me homesick because of the fact that I can't go home. This just totally isn't fair! I hate the stupid state. But there's no way around it :( At least Dr. Lynch is going to make sure I'm the first appointment! But that still won't be until 9 or so in the morning :(
Got up to start the next morning after not sleeping very well yet again (I have no idea why). Went to the first class which wasn't so bad. Then, I met Aaron to give him the Japanese book he'd left at my house Wednesday morning. He started to walk me to my next class when I saw people from class and they told me class had been cancelled because Greta had been in an accident and was at the hospital. Found out later that she just had hurt her hand pretty bad because the airbags had went off and that her car was totalled. :( Prayers for her quick recovery...she's not feeling very well right now.
Went to my next class and worked on our group project and got done early :) Visited with Dr. Lynch for a bit and showed off our new bags...they are so much better than last years just by changing them to red! Went to the next class and made a presentation about the article I'd had to read. Joy said I said "umm" 89 times. I do that when I get nervous and I hate it! I'm going to have to break that habit!
Went to my last class and played on the computer because it was totally boring presentations that had nothing to do with me. So whatever...not gonna pay attention to that. Set up for the SSWA meeting and started selling the shirts and bags...we made $310 not to mention those that didn't bring their money that want them. :) VERY exciting! We're gonna do a canned food drive (last minute idea by me) and the group decided that we should send it down to help the victims of the Evansville tornado. So that's totally cool and I hope it goes well! Joy even expanded it to toilitries which is even better! Got our meeting finished and then had to wait FOREVER for the speaker from IUPUI on the MSW program. She finally got there and the presentation was really good! If BSU doesn't get a program within the next 3 years, I will definitely go there for the program (assuming that I get this scholarship and have to work 2 years before I can do anything else).
Came home and chilled and went to sleep :) I was EXHAUSTED! (See current mood!)
