Youth Villages
So…first Friday of break…I got up to have breakfast with my momma (you’ll read this in the post after this one) and while I was chatting with her I was going through the pile of mail knowing there’d be nothing for me but I was looking to see if the church bulletin was there or anything else of interest. Well, I came across an envelope from Youth Villages (the place I applied for the summer internship). I turned to mom and was like “When did you get this?!?!” She said yesterday. I asked why she didn’t tell me?! She said she forgot and figured I wouldn’t want her opening it. Well I tore it open thinking that I didn’t get in because it was a thin packet and of course I associated that with college packets that are little and you don’t get in. But...I DID!!!! I got in! The program is May 31-Aug 5. I’d go down on the 30th to move in. The day after Aaron’s grad so I’ll still be here for it :) And then I’d come home on Saturday the 6 in August so that gives me 4 1/2 days before moving to Muncie into the apartment. It’s perfect! Thank you Lord for giving me such an amazing opportunity! I’m going to work 40 hours a week at Youth Villages. And 25 hours a week at another place (Target or something like that) 8am-1pm. Every other weekend I’ll work 16 hours. So every other week I’ll total 81 hours!!! That’s a lot of money! Heck, 65 hours a week is a lot of money! I’m so excited! I can’t wait to do all this! I tried calling Aaron to tell him but he didn’t turn his phone on so he had to wait. I called Mandy and Terri and told them :)
Thanks for the references you two! I loved them!!!! Amanda, I’ll always treasure what you wrote…it meant a great deal to me. You are an amazing mother and friend. I am so blessed to have you in my life and Eden’s. You have been an inspiration to me. I love you! Terri, you are such a role model for me. I’m so blessed to have such an amazing woman modeling so much of what I want to become. I love you! Thanks ladies!!! I’M GOING TO MEMPHIS!!! It’s hard to imagine that I’m spending my summer with teenage girls that hopefully I'll make an impact on even just one of them! If so, it'll totally be worth it! I know these girls are going to be amazing! And I know they are going to change my life in so many ways! This year has already been amazing and I know that it’s only going to get even more amazing. Thank you, Lord for all of these opportunities! And thanks to all of you who helped to make my dream become a reality!
LEAH....SPECIAL SECTION FOR YOU...It's about 9 hours to Boone. :) Little bit closer than Raleigh. WE better be seeing each other this summer! Come down to Memphis and visit! I want to see my Leah and give you a tour of Nashville of course (kickass country town!!!) I love ya girl!
