I came across a letter a few months ago that was from my father to my mother. He wrote it on Valentine's Day a little over a year before they were married. My dad is a gifted writer and his writing is always something I've treasured and now I am able to see some of the first beautiful words he wrote to my mother. It's something that I wanted to save as a special memory so I put it on here to save with all my thoughts.
For a wonderful, lovely lady,
These are not the keys to my heart, as you should know, you already have those keys. However, they are the keys which will allow a beautiful person to visit me whenever you may wish. This way you may be able to surprise me sometime.
You have been a tremondously big help to me recently. The closeness I feel to you gives me a warmth I may never have felt before now. It is not necessary for you to say "I love you" because your actions speak louder than any words. I suppose that is what makes me so happy to be with you.
You are a very beautiful person on the but more importantly on the inside. That's why I hug you so tightly to be as close as possible to that person. My eyes have gotten misty as I write this so I better quit before I drop on the paper (ok so this part was a bit corny...but I couldn't just take out the words!).
I love you,
Randy.
I love my dad! And I love my mom! They have shown me so much including how to love. I love you guys! Thanks for being my parents.
love,
parents
