Today was my day at The Pregnancy Center It seems that for the past month, every time I go I have at least one spanish material assistance client! Today, we had 3 and I took 2 of them. One of the girls could hardly understand English at all! I feel like I should be getting a Spanish minor now too! Especially since I'm wanting to move down to NC/SC! One of the girls that came in took all my pregnancy bottoms...man I had cute style what can I say :) But needless to say, I'm definitely seeing high Spanish population in Anderson and I'm definitely thinking I need to relearn Spanish for the work I'm doing. I felt awful not being able to communicate with them well. I mean, I can understand Spanish fine. But, when it comes to speaking it...I'm really slow and having to grasp for words!
Last week, I had a client that was coming in for a pregnancy test. She had already had 2 miscarriages. She was 23 and has been married 5 years and trying for 4. When she read her pregnancy test and told me it was negative, it broke my heart. She didn't even act surprised. She did tell me her and her husband had discussed adoption if she couldn't get pregnant. We talked a little bit about that. During and after that appointment, I couldn't help but think of Amanda and John. I can only imagine all they went through. I mean here was this woman who had nothing to do with me, and my heart ached for her to see a positive test. You could tell she was going to be an amazing mom. I'm so glad that God blessed Mandy and John with Eden. Mandy's such an amazing mother. She has inspired me in so many ways. I can't wait for the day that I'm able to share the joy of motherhood with her. This woman and Mandy are just as much if not more an amazing mother because of their strong desire and patience in being a mother. God bless all the women out there who waited to become mothers. They are such amazing women. For those of you who are waiting, know that God will bless you with a child at the perfect time. Thank you for all the love you share!!!
