Day 03: Yellow - 31 Day Nail Art Challenge

Sep 04, 2013 01:19

Hey guys! No I didn't forget about this challenge or give up after two manicures. The reason why it took me so long to update is because I honestly had no idea what design to use - I ended up just improvising something. Hope you guys like my interpretation of the Yellow theme :

More images, the design tutorial and materials I used can be found below the cut

Materials Used:

Base Coat - Sally Hansen Nail Nutrition Green Tea + Bamboo Strengthener
White Polish (Color Base) - New York Color #134 French White Tip
Yellow Polish - Wet n Wild #A046 Ferga-colda
Top Coat - Kiss Top Coat Trio Matte Effect
Dotting Tool - Winstonia

Inspiration/Tutorial Used:
As I said in the introduction, I really had no idea what to do for this theme for a very long time. I looked through many tutorials but in the end decided to just do polka dots by hand. Here are the steps I took to make this manicure:
1. I painted my nails with the base coat.
2. I painted on two coats of the white nail polish to make it opaque.
3. I painted on two coats of the yellow nail polish to make it opaque.
3. Using my dotting tool dipped in the white nail polish, I put dots on my nails - I tried to be neat but as you can see, it didn't work out that well.
4. I finished off the design with a Matte top coat.

In order to make up for posting this design so late, I will try my absolute hardest to get the next color up this weekend.
