Something More Substantial

So, "tomorrow" turned into "this weekend" but here I am again. Earlier in the week Dan asked if I wanted to come in and go shopping today. I don't like shopping but I do like hanging out with Dan so I agreed. Then when I came in today somebody in the lounge said something about a birthday and I was like, "Oh my gosh! Your birthday! The 27th!" Then he brought out his watch and showed me that today is the 27th. I felt horrible for forgetting. And very glad I didn't let my aversion to said shopping deter me from coming in today. We actually didn't go shopping at all. Just went to Aleppo and ate. Now Larson and Dan are in. They'll probably do something tonight but I'm not staying, I've got to get back to site.

If last week was the definition of stressful this week was the opposite. It was a very laid back. I went to work every day and worked on a grant proposal to get our office a laptop and projector. I took Sloopy to the vet (he looked very funny with just his head sticking out of my bag). I also visited the human rights center I want to work with and spoke to the girl who is in charge of organizing their visits to the schools, but it will be early next month before they get their schedule for the first six months of the year. I had a couple of English lessons one with Valerio, Olga and their girls and one with the son of one of our star farmers. His name is... oh no! I've forgotten!... Sergio, I think. I'm sure I will have many stories involving him in the future. In my free time I enjoyed the contents of the package I got from Katie on Monday. I've been watching "Gilmore Girls" and crosstiching every night. I also really enjoyed, "A Prairie Home Companion" the movie. I liked the way it was filmed, I liked seeing the faces behind the voices I know, I liked the story, and I liked the music. I keep on going around humming, "Gold Watch and Chain."

I've heard from Lamai. She had a kinda crazy time getting home and it doesn't sound like she's had a lot of time to rest since she got there. It's crazy to think that she left just a week ago today. How insane it must have been to be here one day and ...............*break cause Jamie comes by and gives me a massage*.......be home the next. I can't even comprehend that.

That's all for now folks!
