I have decided that I might as well post the parts of my NaNo thing that I got finished. It is 17,000 words long, though, so this will be in pieces. Here's part one of chapter 1

Great characters and I'm now curious about both the sword and the swordborn.

Hmm. Swordborn, as a concept, probably won't be explained directly in the story -- it's one of those things everyone knows so nobody bothers to talk details, you know? -- but it should come clear over time.

The sword is basically a McGuffin.
