Yay!

The Time-nin are not completely clear on the finer distinctions of shinobi culture, as you may note from the persistent use of "soldier" instead of "ninja" in this fic, but even if they were, they'd go right on calling their leader a Kage, because they're damn sure they're strong enough to get away with it. (They are probably even right about that, and also they are distant enough that the five great elemental countries never felt a need to press the point the way they did/do with the smaller countries right on their own borders.)

Yes, the Signless is the usurper, and therefore the new Space Lord. Which... um... I desperately want to avoid calling him, because of connotation issues. :-/ And I think he's trying to turn the country into some kind of democracy anyway. :-)

Right now I am busy with NBB stuff, and then I have two more prompts to fill (the Hinata camp-and-politics AU installment, which should be manageable, and the trollstuck AU, which desperately wants to turn into an epic of how sixteen young trolls solve the Gl'bgolyb Problem and take over the empire and turn their society upsidedown, plus obligatory world-building theories and more romantic shenanigans than you can shake a stick at, oh god send help), but after that, I will... well, I will work on my Remix fic. Dammit. But after that, I will come back to this world, because I want more too!

I can totally see the bunch of them be all "you don't have monopoly on that word stfu." XD

And wow yes that is a pretty nice backlog. But as long as there's a possibility you'll come back to this one at some point...! :D

... I will only send more bunnies help if you tell me everything about this. Is it a fic you've talked about before? I can't place it atm.

The trollstuck AU is for explodingfrogs who claimed my sixth prompt slot and asked for a fic in which the human kids were trolls on Alternia and always had been -- you know, a reversal of the usual humanstuck AU trope. :-) And I have IDEAS. :-D

The beta!kids are part of the friendship circle along with the twelve canon trolls; the alpha!kids/Guardians are their ancestors. Respectively, we have:

-Davven Kronos (rustblood, a bit more orange than Aradia), ancestor Redblade, trollhandle [Undecided]

-Jarlia Agaion (limeblood), ancestor [Undecided], trollhandle gleefulGorgon

-Jothan Aeolio (blueblood, between Vriska and Equius), ancestor the Gamelord, trollhandle ghastlyTrickster

-Alonde Hekata (violetblood seadweller), ancestor the Magician, trollhandle tentacleTormentrix

And see, the gimmick is that Gl'bgolyb is either not native to Alternia (being a horrorterror and all) and was either summoned or awakened by the Magician and her matesprit/kismessis (they flipped a lot) the Condesce... which fucked up troll society into its present form. Also, the story would start with Jarlia (whose psychic power is to have dreams of the future) trying frantically to get Davven to stop Sollux from killing Aradia under Vriska's brainwashing, except he doesn't initially believe her because of Reasons, and stuff goes on from there.

Davven's psychic thing is either teleportation or temporarily freezing time; I'm not quite sure yet. Maybe both. Jothan is best friends with Vriska and they are really dangerous together -- he's not malicious the way she can be, nor is he murderous like sober!Gamzee, but he doesn't especially care if he hurts people as long as he's having fun. And Alonde and Aradia spend a lot of time talking about the history of their planet and people, because Aradia's ghosts-and-archaeology thing dovetails neatly with Alonde's penchant for summoning Things That Should Not Be Summoned and making them spill their metaphorical guts about what her ancestor did before the Condesce decided she was too dangerous and got rid of her.

A lot of other details are still up in the air, but oh man, I want to write this so badly.
