wherein Liz schedules in public and gripes about writing (situation normal, in other words)

Here is my life plan for the next two weeks:

Thursday: work, laundry, pick up held library books
Friday: open store, cadge ride to Madison (NJ) with Dad, family dinner out
Saturday: bridal shower 1pm, family dinner in, other activities TBD (I should call Pat...)
Sunday: Father's Day brunch, cadge ride back to Ithaca

Monday-Wednesday: work, also possibly buy sparkly silver earrings
Thursday: work, pack for wedding, panic
Friday: pick up rental car 10am, drive to Massachusetts, rehearsal dinner
Saturday: moral support at salon, wedding 2pm, reception 3pm-6ish, drive home
Sunday: return rental car before 10am, close store

Somewhere in there I need to finish Cat's year-and-a-half belated birthday present. Except, you know, the two stories that I have pegged as options are not speaking to me at the moment, and the story that is speaking to me is a paranormal romance novel set in Ithaca, which is sadly short on actual, y'know, romance. And stuff. (But the background for psychics and shapeshifters and ghosts and stuff is about a hundred times more scientific and thought-out than most of the genre, which has to count for something, right? Right??? *sigh*)

Screw that. I am going to BEAT one of the other stories into shape with a GIANT HAMMER if I have to. Probably the fairy-tale; it's shorter, and it has... um, how to put this... less awkward thematic resonance with Cat's own life. (Instead, it has awkward thematic resonance with my life. *headdesk* I can't win.)

*opens "An Ounce of Prevention" files and avoids the issue*

liz talks about personal stuff, cat's wedding, writing, everyday life
