Today we talked about laughter and feeling silly. Take a group of seven-year-old kids and tell them to make funny faces, to talk about things that are funny, and then hand them homemade silly putty. Add music. Mix well. Shake.
It was chaotic, to say the least -- Jeanne and I ended up doing less 'instructing' and more 'trying desperately to bleed off energy in harmless ways before things explode.' But we managed, and had a fair amount of fun along the way.
However, I really think there should have been more starch and less glue in the silly putty -- it was a little too sticky for true comfort, especially when it got onto clothes. Yeah, it's water-soluble, but still. There are limits!

The public library seems to have had trouble with one of my book returns a few weeks ago -- they thought one was returned late and had a fine attached to it, and the other wasn't returned at all. Well, I got the fine corrected last week, and today I proved to them that the other book was on the shelves, so clearly they had a filing problem and I was not responsible for replacing the book. *sigh*
