The local housing market has gone wacky YET AGAIN with Ithaca College's announcement that they're abandoning plans for an in-person fall semester and switching to an entirely online instruction format. They're also kicking everyone out of on-campus housing.
We are trying to wave our apartments enticingly under suddenly unhoused IC students' noses, but it's a messy scramble at best, you know?
Anyway, things I did at work today:
1. Responded to a bunch of inquiries and set up several tentative tours for Thursday afternoon. Nobody had responded to confirm or reschedule by the time I left, so they'll probably all wind up as no-shows, but eh, at least I tried. I also passed on some useful phone call info to Mr. Geniality and the person in question submitted an online application in the evening, so fingers crossed that will pan out.
2. Continued working to coordinate better with Mr. Geniality about inquiries and tours. He's going to forward me everything he responds to on Mondays and Tuesdays (when I am either in Collegetown or off work), and I will make sure to forward him everything from RentLinx and Craigslist because he weirdly doesn't seem to get those notifications even when they're for properties he handles directly. *hands*
3. Inspected several apartments to check whether turnover had been completed correctly. Reported problems to Maintenance Guy. In the process, I acquired an abandoned toaster that I am now using for apartment staging, because it's lightweight and why not.
4. Staged, photographed, and unstaged two studios and two mini-studios.
5. Continued editing photographs and uploading them to the website.
6. Sent in a whole bunch of NYSEG new account request emails, using the photos I took on Monday and the ones I didn't finish from the previous week. There were a couple glitches -- in one case I photographed the wrong meter (*headdesk*), and in a couple other cases I couldn't find the tenants' application request form -- but I will resolve those this coming Monday. By and large, though, I am done with NYSEG bullshit for the year. \o/
I was on the clock for 10 hours, which means I was physically on the Commons for 10 and a half hours. That is way the hell too long.
But I made roast asparagus and fish patties for dinner when I got home, it's supposed to get down to about 52 Fahrenheit tonight, and I wrote a few more sentences of the untitled Narnia bridge fic, so what the hell, I will call it an okay day.
(Also, I am earning so much overtime lately. If they didn't pay me time-and-a-half for that, I would not work a minute over 40 hours per week.)
