Things done today:
1. Weeded the back garden patch... well, made a reasonable start at weeding it, anyway. I spent ~30 minutes on the task, and in the process discovered that a few of my squash seeds survived the three-day stretch of hard overnight freezes and managed to sprout. I'm not sure how well they're doing, but hey, life is life! So I propped them up a bit and gave them some water, and then planted replacement seeds for the ones that failed to make it aboveground (and some potential replacements for the ones that look kind of yellow and unhappy, because insurance is useful).
2. Sprayed my peppers and eggplant once again as part of my ongoing war with the aphid infestation. Also manually crushed probably over a thousand aphids. UGH. And then I took my clementine outside briefly so I could spray it too, because I think it's acquired spider mites. I don't know HOW it acquired spider mites, but there's definitely something tiny making equally tiny webs in the gaps where leaf stems meet the branches. *headdesk*
3. Dumped 2 cubic feet of potting soil into two plastic storage tubs (which I use instead of planters, because they are SO MUCH CHEAPER) and four actual pots. Then I planted spinach seeds and the leftover rainbow chard seeds from last year in the planters, and some jalapeno seeds in the pots. (Yes, this is very late for starting the jalapenos. I am aware. They were an impulse purchase and I'm going to give them a shot.) Then I took the pots and planters outside and drenched them.
4. Vacuumed my kitchen to clean up spilled dirt from the aforementioned seed planting.
5. Called Susan and caught up on life. :D
6. Took a walk.
7. Used Krazy Glue to fasten the three broken ceramic chips back onto the main body of my toilet tank lid. Then I used Lexel sealant to fill in the gaps and hopefully help the repair job last longer. While I was at it, I also glued a magnet back into one of my kitchen not!clothespins.
8. Added ~125 words to the Doctor Who/Magnus Archives crossover.
And now I am off to bed.
