stuff done: Saturday-Monday

May 22, 2017 23:44

1. Baked brownies for church.

2. Boiled eight eggs.

3. Facilitated youth group, which basically meant running plans past another member who was (as with last week) the only person who turned up. I then caught up with the DRE to ask if she'd received my email, and we have tentatively agreed to meet in person either this week or next week to discuss the 2017-18 year.

4. Coffee hour cleanup. I stole coffee grounds a second time, but I learned my lesson from last week's attempt. See, that time I took all the grounds, and they never got a chance to dry out and consequently grew some rather attractive pinkish-gray mold. *sigh* So this time I only took a small container's worth, and when I got them home, I promptly spread them out over multiple containers in thin layers so they could dry. I will mix them with eggshells next weekend, when I've collected enough to make for a relatively balanced mix.

5. Changed linens. This time I did the full seasonal swap! So my comforter is now rolled up waiting to be washed, along with my winter coat and the mattress pad I'd been using all winter. I have also turned my mattress around (swapped head for foot) which I try to do at least twice a year.

6. Reheated a batch of beef whatever with taco seasoning that I'd made in my crockpot ages ago, but which needed spice tweaking. Basically I dumped in a second packet of taco seasoning, plus some additional oregano, cumin, and red pepper, and added three teaspoons of minced garlic because why not. At this point, it's kind of like chili without the beans, which is conceptually kind of weird but eh, it tastes all right. (Previously it had tasted of nothing in particular with way too much hot sauce.) I have been eating it rolled up in tortillas with some sharp cheddar, because, again, why not.

7. Emptied my wastebaskets into the kitchen trash bag, which I then took out to the trash can. It was still not quite full enough to put out for collection. Next time, though!

8. Took recycling bins to curb for pickup. (Also consolidated four bins into three while I was at it.)

9. Walked into town to get cash, which I failed to do on Sunday since my bank is in the middle of updating all its computer systems.

10. Laundry! (Not the winter stuff, or the curtains. I will try to get those on Thursday or Friday, weather permitting.)

11. Photographed my gardening projects and posted about them online.

12. Trimmed the trees in my house's verge, which were hanging so low over the sidewalk that they hit MY head when I tried to walk under them. I am 5'3". I also took a few swipes at the lilac and one of the front hedges, but not in an organized fashion. The clippings are in a yard waste bag which I have put on the porch until such time as I get back to the lilac and fill it enough to set out for curbside pickup.

13. Emailed TC3 about AA degree requirements again -- this time directed toward the admissions department.

14. Finished and posted a
genprompt_bingo ficlet, in response to a request on my latest mini-ficlet prompt meme. \o/

15. Emailed my WIP Big Bang artist to ask if they want character descriptions. (My story is all about OCs. Descriptions are kind of relevant.)

Incidentally! WIP Big Bang art claims are open! If you are an artist or know an artist who might be interested, please go take a look. :)
