I'm in that mode in my life where I'm revamping everything, from living space to career to general outlook. I just started a contract with AT&T, working in their wireless division. I'm actually really thrilled about this in that I will be assisting in marketing strategies as well as learning quite a bit about the actual physical networks. One of my projects is to design a new basic network with two people from the IT division, and present both the model and marketing strategies for specific cities in the US.
I've been apartment hunting in the downtown area specifically to ease some of the costs of living on myself. I found a great high-rise with views over the city that basically cater to corporate residents, and it's a short three block walk from work. I actually found a complex with an actual concierge on staff. Blair and I have determined that this type of residence is populated by people who have no dependants, and don't want to leave their money to charity when they die. *chuckles*
I have been trying to talk Joe out of joining the military. He wants to be able to wink at a fellow naval officer and say "Hey Sailor." We've been reminding him that while securing many life humour points, he would still be made to do the same 10 week basic training that everyone else has to do. And that said sailor would probably plow him in the face. I think the whole "you have to run 15 kms without any styling product in your hair" will be the kicker for him. It always makes for an interesting martini night, that's for sure.
