Summary: He's fucked up and she won't listen. Response to cupcakemonster's Say It Again, Then.
She doesn't listen to him, so he sticks his tongue out at her when she leaves, but that doesn't help, and then Baralai is there, quiet, helpful Baralai, and he cries on Baralai's shoulder for a while, because he did love Rikku, he did.
He does. Right?
He contacts Brother and tells him to make sure Rikku is alright, and he cleans up the wine and makes a dozen stupid plans to get her back, and all the time Baralai stays with him and talks things through and listens and tells him it's okay, and then he's all shit, I'm an asshole, and Baralai laughs and says he knows.
He's such an asshole.
He throws the bits of glass that didn't shatter already at the wall and Baralai slips out.
Nasty hurtful rumours reach him, and he thinks about finding her and screaming at her, whether they're true or not, but instead he goes to Bevelle and drags Baralai off (kissing in front of everyone, and Baralai only making the tiniest effort to stop him) and let's the world know that he is at least half "that way" and that he doesn't care, and he does it more to hurt Rikku than anything.
He hopes she knows, and he still has the nerve to wonder if they can be friends again.
