"Do you even know how to dance?"
"Huh?"
"I thought it might be a flaw in your plan," Simon said, patiently, "if you can't dance."
Mal shakes his head. "I'm going there to talk about a job, not socialise, doc."
"You could end up sticking out like a sore thumb, and looking ridiculous in front of your client, too."
That was pretty much how Simon got him to learn dancing. It occurs to Mal that he was pretty easily manipulated, but it's kind of hard to complain when this is exactly, whether he admits it or not, what he wants -- and when Simon was, after all, right. He might need to know how to dance. He at least needs to know how to move, how to look the part.
He doesn't need to know about the feel of Simon's body under his hand, or the rapid beat of his heart when they dance close. He doesn't need to know that he likes the way Simon looks when he's a little out of breath and smiling that smile of his. He doesn't need to know that he thinks Simon is beautiful -- but there it is, whether he wants to know or not.
