Kairi sprawled on her stomach, focusing on the page in front of her. Sora had his head on her ankle, which she doubted could be very comfortable, but that was his lookout. Riku was pacing around, talking about something she'd long ago tuned out -- complaints about how bored he was, about Tidus and Wakka being immature, about Selphie trying to kiss him --
"Are you trying to make us jealous?" Kairi asked, when the last registered. There was playful laughter in her voice. She knew Riku would've just rolled his eyes.
"I'm just telling you."
"Why'd she try to kiss you, anyway?" Sora asked, from down on her ankle. Riku shrugged.
"Something about making Wakka jealous? I was saying -- "
And he was off again. Kairi tuned it out, sucking the end of her pencil and trying to figure out the answer to the math problem she'd been chewing over since before Sora and Riku showed up. She looked up when she felt Sora move from her ankle, and grinned when he kissed Riku firmly to shut him up.
"I'll keep that method in mind," she said, brightly. And then, to Riku: "Stop complaining, anyway. You know you love being back here. And we're not so boring, are we?"
"Of course not," Riku said, meeting her eyes and then Sora's, with tenderness round the edges like he thought she seriously meant the question.
