Summary: Guy comes back to himself after being revived in a sanctuary.
It was like drowning, he thinks -- not that he's ever drowned or even come close: he learnt to swim young, "because there has to be something you can do". Still, it's the same in some ways: it's horribly cold, for one, and dark, for another, although this time it isn't because he has his eyes closed. And waking again, being called back into life, that's like surfacing, coming into the sun again out of the dark water, and Maria's kneeling there, in the sanctuary, and then she raises her head and smiles at him.
"Cold," Guy says, shivering a little. Maria smiles again and holds her hands out.
"I know. But you're alright now. Come on. Firion's waiting."
"Okay?" he asks, remembering the battle, the way he'd fallen with Maria standing over him, bow in her hands, jaw set. He looks at her quickly, searching for injuries. "Cured?"
"Firion cast the spell for me, yes," she says. She tugs gently at his hands to pull him out of the sanctuary, and he remembers that hush-hush breath-holding feeling in sanctuaries and suddenly he wants to get out into the sun -- to feel it on his skin again after the dark water.
