Summary: Things the little plastic dinosaurs see. For Thalia, the Greek muse of comedy, since this is slightly silly.
It isn't a bad job, being Wash's plastic dinosaurs. Wash's monologues when Zoe is out and risking her life can be boring, but his evil laugh is entertaining, and he has a way of coming up with endless ridiculous scenarios for them to take part in. And then there's the fact that they get to stay in the cockpit all the time: oh, the things they've seen! Wash and Zoe don't trouble to think about the eyes of poor innocent plastic dinosaurs, after all. And nor does anyone else -- particularly not Mal -- although when River wandered in, she felt them watching her and turned them all around to face the other way, scolding them, and yet laughing all the same.
The bad bits are, of course, the bumpy rides: Mal may think Wash is a brilliant pilot, but the dinosaurs have ended up flying up in the air, hitting the ceiling and landing on the floor, skidding into the wall, one too many times to believe that particular fiction. And sometimes, when the cockpit is empty and everyone is eating together, there's nothing happening.
But more often than not, there's plenty to interest a plastic dinosaur.
