Summary: They meet in the middle.
Sometimes, Crowley observes that they've met in the middle. Aziraphale supposes that could be true. He doesn't think it's possible to Rise -- though many things have opposites and, well, Upstairs is fond of symmetry, though divine forgiveness is supposed to be inexhaustible anyway. It'd take something out of it if Crowley did become an angel again. It'd take the fun out of it somehow, the fun Crowley brings to it -- though Goodness knows Aziraphale wouldn't admit to that -- with his ideas about tempting Aziraphale and all that comes with it.
And if he Fell, well -- there's something beautiful about the rightness of it, too, the goodness and beauty in the love, the fierce love in the sex, in the way Crowley gets his own way. There's heaven and hell both in what they have, and while he's content to meet in the middle, he doesn't want the sliding scale to slip to either end.
