Ellone knew they were coming. Somehow, she felt it -- the end of the good times. She couldn't stop it, though. Her weak little girl arms made no impression on soldiers through their armour, and Laguna didn't hear her cries before they got a hand over her mouth.
She wonders now if Laguna and Raine felt it. If, somehow, it could've been prevented. Squall would have grown up knowing how to smile, and so many connected events might not have come to pass. Squall wouldn't have so many scars. He wouldn't be broken, but happy.
They would all know where they belong.
