Film offers
Recently I got asked to make 2 films. One is a promotional film for my brothers steel firm which is pretty straight forward but the second is a short movie for a foundation in my town that organizes holidays for kids from poor families.
The film is about how the foundations money get's stolen by a bunch of thieves (in striped suits like in the cartoons). They rob the bank where the money is kept. We couldn't get the co-operation of any real bank coz of safety precausions but we're using an old hospital instead which looks a bit like a bank inside.
I've got 7 staf members as actors, I do the camera work, turn the script in to something usable (which I have already done, actually finished it today), I edit the movie and add special effects and a mate of mine Eric is helping me with the filming, operating the clapper and overseeïng the sound-recording and sound effects.
So even if it's just a film for a bunch of kids, we're approaching it as a real movie and the experience is awesome. To actually go from idea to script to movie is pretty cool.
The film is the prelude to a ghost hunt in the woods that the kids participate in. The film ends with the staff asking the kids to help look for the money and from there the kids actually go into the woods at night to look for the money. Of course there's all sorts of ghosts and robbers just waiting to scare the living daylights out of them :)
We had one meeting together where we went over the entire script and checked if it was all do-able. The next meeting is sceduled for april 27th an is held in.... wait for it.... the actual house I was born in. It's a flat by the railway and one of the staff live there. My family lived there at the time I was born. Weird coïncidence I thought.
Anyway, if all goes well this should be a pretty cool movie. I will of course post it on my channel in due time. I will also vlog about it later and show you some behind the scenes stuff. We have the coöperation of the police, the Mayor of Delfzijl, the fire department, the swimming pool and a few others.
All with no budget. just volunteers.
I will be filming with the Nikon of course and the inside scenes I will probably shoot with the Panasonic TZ10 because it's awesome in low light and shoots at 25frames per second which is close to the Nikons 24 fps.
I'm really looking forward to this. I'll keep you posted on this blog.
