(no subject)
OK, first of all: yes, I am alive, as evidenced by this post. I know that I've been a terrible LJ-er over the past... many months. And a certain person named Tori told me that I needed to come back to LJ, so I am here at her command. :D
Just to demonstrate how completely out of the fandom loop I have fallen, I only learned today of the HP Lexicon/JKR entanglement. As a dear friend put it when I learned of it by reading his recent entries this morning, "everyone vaguely connected to Harry Potter and not exiled to the asteroid colonies" knew about this. Asteroid colonies... yes, yes, that's exactly where I've been. I do plan to write a Ron/Hermione fic soon. You should know, however, that "soon" could be next week, next month, or next Septanuary. It's all up to the Muses. Bunnies, of course, are always welcome. ;D
My newest TV obsession is Bones. Love me some Booth/Brennan. Rar.
The writer's strike has been painful. I miss House. And having watched seasons 1 & 2 of Bones over Christmas break, I am dying to see some season 3 episodes! Also, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert need their trusty writers back so that the shows can go on as before. They've done relatively well since they returned writer-less, but we need The Word, dammit! It's an election year!
The Hobbit movie and sequel? Very excited, and super-excited if the sequel involves Aragorn's sojourn in Rohan and Gondor as a young man. Also interested to see how many LotR character cameos they can sneak into the movie(s). Legolas in Mirkwood, for instance.
Let's see, what else?
The job I took here at the library last year is funded by a grant that expires on February 5. Yesterday I got the fabulous news that I was offered the job I applied for: Senior Library Associate in Manuscripts, beginning February 6. In the same department - which I LOVE LOVE LOVE - and everything. And I get to stay in my sweet little yellow house. *beams*
Er... life in general continues same-ole, same-ole. I visit Facebook daily, so that's really the best way I have of keeping in touch with people. If any of you are on there, please let me know so I can friendify you! :D
