He said the dead had souls, but when I asked him
How that could be---I thought the dead were souls,
He broke my trance. Don't that make you suspicious
That there's something the dead are keeping back?
Yes, there's something the dead are keeping back.

- Robert Frost, "Two Witches"

What is this from? I'm a big Buffy fan and I have read almost all of Frost poems but I have never seen this from. Is it from a Buffy book?

i'm not sure if it's part of 'early poems'... it's a rather obsure poem, i think.

if you like robert frost's work... you'll probably like hemingway as well...

I do love Hemmingway. Hills Like white elephants is one of my favorites. I loved the old man and the sea too. But Frost still, I just love. It's such a hectic world, it's so nice to find escape in the pure serenity of his works. The perfectness of his surroundings. In Birches, Ahhh *sits back and enjoys the memory of Birches*. I love it. My all time favorite Frost poem has to be Nothing Gold can stay, The Road not taken, or fire and Ice. It's too hard to choose a favorite. I love him!!!!!!!

i love hemingway too... even though there's still lots of his work i haven't read... so far, my favourite hemingway book is 'the sun also rises'...

that leads me to my next question.. what do you think of j.d. salinger? he's one of my favourite writers ever [together with neil gaiman]. he hasn't written all that much... but you can't deny the power of the catcher in the rye or franny and zoey..

No, I've not heard of Salinger. I have heard of the Catcher in the Rye, but I've never read it. I will though. If you say he's as good as you say he is, I will definatly read him. Thank You.

P.S.Im just looking for a good read. Any other recomendations?

P.P.S. Chuck Palahniuk is amazing if you've not read him.

j.d. salinger is the writer of the catcher in the rye... give the book a shot, for sure.

other good reads? well.. any neil gaiman. and yes, i love chuck palahniuk. haven't read all whis work yet, but so far i've read fight club, lullaby [my favourite], invisible monsters and choke.

what about selby's requiem for a dream? it's really intense and not that easy of a read... but it's so good... the movie is very good as well..
