Funnily enough, I haven't posted an entry since March of '08, and when I finally decide to make a new entry, it's of Matt Stone and Trey Parker. Maybe you don't recognize their names, but they're the creators of South Park.
As well as the movie "BASEketball".
It's a god awful film that came out around 1998 that I find ridiculously amusing. Over the winter break, I spent a good 8 hours, in total, watching and rewatching this movie.
... Actually, I don't think they wrote the script, I think the director, Zucker, probably wrote it and just thought they'd be perfect for the lead roles. Which they were, but the humor is so up their alley that I always think they made it themselves.
I digress! : D I have a nice work-in-progress (Nope, never finished Kyle.) of them. I got a nice shiny Wacom tablet for Christmas, and this is my second drawing of the new year! I'm very excited, it triple-ass kicks my crappy old tablet.
I'd like to explain the background behind this pic a bit (and a fair warning, it's a teensy bit homoerotic.) :
Okay, everyone who saw BASEketball (all ten of us.) knows about the infamous Remer/Coop kiss scene. I mean, seriously, everyone saw it coming. Anyways, me being me, I totally went off on this whole spiel about how Remer and Coop could one day come to terms with their obvious homosexual attraction to one another and get on with it.
But no.
Not like that crappy mushy stuff where it plays out like a fairytale.
It's already a stretch to think they have some deep-rooted physical attraction to one another, and an entirely different ball game to propose that they just fall into eachother's arms one day.
Not for me. I like to make my made up scenarios believable.
So, to cut this short, in this picture, I'm trying to depict Coop (the blonde) in a mid-air jump to make a basket when Remer, in a fit of rage, pummels him to the ground. I imagine that it's because Coop was rubbing Remer's nose in the fact that he had Jenna Reid as his girlfriend right before the shot and some other such taunts; the tension between them over Jenna had been building for quite a while. Then Coop says something stupid that makes Remer flip and just tackle Coop to the ground and start a wave of punches at his best friend...
Ooooh, the drama.
Another thing:
I totally hate drama. But I did it anyways.
(:
So! That was just a snippet of information about this drawing...
My thoughts get jumbled pretty easily, so if any part of this entry isn't coherent, well, my bad. Try to keep up.
PS: I'm tooottally not good at realism; I'm a cartoonist at heart.
