IM Playoff Brackets Revealed
District 5 takes on Red Dogs in quarterfinal matchup
Team District 5 will face an unfamiliar opponent in the quarterfinals of Ferris State IM hockey. D5 will face Red Dogs, who also received a play-in round bye. The two squads did not meet during the regular season.
"Atleast we dont have to worry about what happened against them during the regular season," D5 backstop Eddie Bellamy said.
D5 finished the regular season at 4-4 and avoided playing in the play-in round, which takes place Sunday night.
The two play-in games and the first quarterfinals will take place Sunday night while D5 and the other quarters take place Monday. The semi's are Tuesday night while the championship is Wednesday.
"Thats gonna be alot of hockey in a short time," Bellamy said. "But we will cross that bridge as we win games."
Should D5 win, they could potentially face another team that hadn't seen before: Sigma Pi Rangers.
The Rangers got a quarterfinal birth as well and they will face the winner of a play-in game between Chuck Norris All Stars and Betta Getcha Holstrom. D5 defeated both of the squads playing in the play-in game in their half of the draw.
"We sorta avoided the tough teams we lost to during the season," Bellamy said. "We'll get to see them in the finals if we made it that far."
Monday's game against Red Dogs is scheduled to begin at 11pm.
