Dear Lisa,
I never once did criticize your compassion for the VT shooter. I did say that I don't understand it, and that it concerned me. After all, Mr. Cho had a great deal of compassion for the Columbine shooters.
I did however criticize your decision to post things comparing what Cho did to Joy's nephew. I do not know how Joy took it, but if I'd read something like that in a comment on here I'd be pretty offended (I started typing this last night but, decided that I was still too enraged to think clearly, so I didn't see Carol's comment on your journal first).
I did refer to Cho as an asshole... not because he killed himself, but because he killed 32 people in route of killing himself. How can you (as you stated in my original entry) feel more sympathy for Cho and his family then those innocents? Yes, Cho was a disturbed young man, he needed help and many folks on the campus tried to get him to seek help, but he refused, Parinoid Schizophenia and all they couldn't force him to go... therefore, noone's fault but his own.
When I was younger (my early to mid 20's) I contemplated suicide many, many times. That time period in my life changed my views on a lot of things, one of the biggest being the act of suicide. During that time I had one friend trade his couch for a gun that he later used to shoot himself, and another friend who was being beaten by her husband (but, hiding it very well) use his gun to shoot herself. People commit/attempt suicide for a various number of reasons, not all of which are because they are mentally ill.

I distinctly remember talking to you about 20 minutes later when Paul got up to go to the bathroom and explained to you that Paul was full of shit, and he didn't know what he was talking about and you should ignore him.
I called and left a message at your house today, I wanted to discuss this with you rather than posting something and getting into a big internet debate... I still do not understand where my email comes off as 'nasty'. As I stated in the first line of this post, I said that I didn't understand and it concerned me and that I didn't think it was fair that you compare Cho and Joy's nephew/Carol's cousin! Lisa, I think you are a wonderful and intellegent person... however, I do think that something has happened in the past year that has changed you. I could sit here and list the times that I've said to myself, what the hell is wrong with Lisa, but feared saying anything because I was afraid of being on the recieving end of one of your outbursts.
